NOW THAT I'M TWENTY THREE
Last year, In honor of my birthday I wrote
a list of 22 things that I learned in 22 years.
(read it here!)
I do not want to make another list, but I want to take a different
take on the whole, “birthday” post and still make it meaningful.
Here are a few life lessons that I’ve come to realize now as a
twenty three year old student of life.
I hope it speaks to you too!
Enjoy the photos of me over the past several years.
ACT YOUR AGE
Growing up, I caught myself always thinking or saying,
”I feel older than just (insert age here)”.
Now that I’m older, I’ve heard younger people
say that and my reaction is a little different now.
Why are we always in such a rush to grow up?
Why are we always in such a rush for the next thing?
There is joy in being content in the season and the age you are in.
If you are nineteen years old, act like it.
You do not need to act like you’re 23, because well..you’re not.
I have learned that you need to take it a day, a week, a month, a year at a time.
We should not be in a hurry to feel older because
later down the line we will want to be younger.
There is nothing wrong with being your age.
Have fun being your age.
Make it your best age yet.
IT AIN’T ABOUT THINGS
It’s so easy to look at look at Youtubers give
their home tour where everything is clean, and furnished, and DIY’d and want
so bad for what they have.
THIS AIN’T REALITY THO.
The world is getting so weird.
I am learning to take it with a grain of salt.
We can’t take anything with us when we die.
Why spend our lives obsessing over THINGS?!
I’ll be honest, it would be so nice to be able to afford the nice things in life,
but I do not think that I need to consume and cloud my mind with the
things around me.
They’re just things.
EAT GOOD THINGS
I’m just saying, but I can feel it now that I’m older when I’m eating bad stuff.
It affects my skin, my mood, my weight, my mind, my spiritual life, etc.
We have one body, we need to take care of it.
I know I seem to always bring up that life is fast and fleeting,
but I am realizing that more and more,
and I want to live a life that is glorifying to God, and a life that is FULL!
In order to be the best me, I need to eat better things.
So, starting in my 23rd year, i’m going to make conscious decisions to eat better.
I’m not going to claim to go vegan or whatever,
but I’m going to claim to put good things into my body!
A couple of things that I’ve been learning lately!
I hope that you learned something as well.
I am SO incredibly thankful for the life that I live.
I am overwhelmed when I think about how blessed my life is.
I may not be rich in money, but i’m rich with love and joy.
Super cliche — I know.
But I’m loving life, one day at a time.
Well, here’s to 23 years!
Thank you for reading this — I appreciate you!
